The Roadmap to Reach Your goals

Do you ever feel like you reach for the stars and never seem to get the results you want?

You aim high and hope for the best, but reaching goals never seem to happen, and you’re not sure

what you’re doing wrong.

Goals are tough to achieve. Sometimes your goals are too vague, too broad, or just unrealistic.

However, here’s the good news: you’re already ahead of most people just by setting goals. Now

you need to tweak your approach, and you’ll make reaching goals easier.

Look at this as a roadmap to get you going on the right path.

To work towards and reach your goals give positive returns in all areas of your personal life, and

when you know exactly what you want, it is easier to focus and concentrate on the important

things.

IDENTIFY YOUR GOAL

For some, it can be difficult to identify what to work towards.

Whether it is to rebuild a relationship with family or friends, change careers, make a “journey” for

personal growth, or build wealth. One thing is certain: If you do not have good answers to why

you want to achieve your goal, it becomes really difficult to reach it.

In a situation where you struggle to set a good and important goal for what to achieve, try to set

your goal is to “find the things that are important to ME”

WHY

The reasons to fight for your goal

The process of identifying the reasons why you want to achieve your goal is crucial for your own

argumentation of the effort required. Working towards your goal will be challenging and at times

frustrating, the answers to the question of why will help you get a jumpstart.

● “When you feel like quitting, think about why you started”.

● “If you can’t stop thinking about it, don’t stop working for it”.

WHEN

Don’t call it a dream, call it a plan. The good thing about plans is that they have a starting and

ending point.

To find the starting point, think of this: One day, or day One – You decide.

To find the ending point:

“Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take, the time will pass anyway”.

said Earl Nightingale

HOW

Find your path to success

Be stubborn! When you have decided on a goal, it is important that you find the way most suitable

for you. The HOW is about all the things that must be fulfilled to acquire your goal with the

specific tasks you must do. It is not necessary to find answers to everything at once, but you

should do enough to point yourself in the right direction.

“Setting that plan to achieve your goals is the key to making them happen! So set small goals to get that big goal and go for it, make the plan and stick with it! -

said Rose, Next Generation Marketing’s Hiring Manager.

TELL OTHERS

Having to stay accountable to someone is a great motivator when you want to start reaching

goals. Find someone to act as an accountability partner, and spend time explaining which goals

or healthy habits you’re trying to work on. It could be your spouse, a friend, or a neighbor. You

just need someone who will check in on how you’re doing with your goal.

As a bonus, you’ll likely get valuable feedback from them along the way, even if you fail to reach

a goal or milestone while goal setting.

EVALUATE YOUR PROGRESS EVERY WEEK

Ask yourself: what did I do this week to get closer to my goal? What worked? What didn’t?

Consider using a journal to reflect on the progress you made (or didn’t). Check this journal each

time you feel unsure of how to proceed.

Don’t forget to celebrate your success, too. Allow yourself to bask in the success of a great

week, and then get right back at it and check the next thing off your list. That’s how you’ll reach

your ultimate goals.

It’s great to dream big, but that also means you need to plan big. The bigger your goal, the more

organization, and motivation it will require. If you’re prepared to put in the effort of making a

step-by-step plan and following it to the best of your ability, set your sights high and get started.
